Amy is the Director of Memory Care here at The Blake at Bossier City. She was born and raised in North Louisiana and moved to Nashville, TN, as a young adult. However, after 13 years in Nashville, she decided to move back to Shreveport.
Prior to making the move into the Senior Living Industry, Amy was as a Supervisor in the Patient Accounting Department at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Following this, she decided to be a stay-at-home mom with her three, now-grown, children, Emma, Sarah, and Sam. Two years ago, Amy began her career at The Blake at Bossier City as the Director of Activities, using experience that she gained from working at a skilled nursing facility, where her father resided. She discovered her passion for Memory Care and excitedly took the position of Director of Memory Care when offered at the beginning of 2023.
Amy’s favorite part of working at The Blake is being in the familial atmosphere that the staff shares and how each department works together to enhance the lives of the residents. Her favorite part of working with seniors is listening to their life stories, the sense of humor that they share, and how they love unconditionally. She also enjoys leading the monthly Alzheimer’s/Dementia Family Support Group.
When she is not working, Amy enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren, family, and friends. She also loves to be active outside, watch her favorite show, "The Big Bang Theory," and bake treats for her residents and co-workers.
