Meet Our Team

Steve is originally from Milton, Florida, but his career in the United States Navy has taken him all over the world. He is now settled back home and works as the Director of Business Operations for The Blake at Pensacola. Aside from his extensive military career, Steve also gained experience as a business owner and also served as an executive director in the senior living industry. He enjoys providing superior care to our residents and their families, as well as giving back to our community. Steve enjoys the challenge of finding new ways to improve systems and providing superior service. When not at work, Steve serves as a volunteer at the local food bank as a caregiver for a senior member of his family, and providing counseling services for others in need.

Michelle Killin is the Assistant Director of Sales at The Blake of Pensacola. She moved from Alabama to the Emerald Coast in 2020. She has always had a passion for serving others, especially in the senior community.

Michelle's favorite part about working at The Blake is meeting new people every day and helping to guide families in their decision to make the amazing community at The Blake their home. And how wonderful does she think The Blake is? In her words, "It's like the cruise ship that hasn’t left the port! Beautiful and full of great amenities and chef prepared meals!"

When she isn't at The Blake, you can find her out on the boat with her husband Scott and their pups, Bandit and Nellie, or spending time with her "large, funny, loud" family.

Casey has been a Licensed Practical Nurse for 12 years. She has devoted over half of her nursing career to Geriatric Nursing and caring for those with Alzheimer’s and related diseases. Casey is originally from Citronelle, Alabama, but now is proud to have made Pensacola her home for the past six years. Casey did her prerequisites at the University of South Alabama and then went on to receive her LPN from Faulkner State Community College, now known as Coastal Community College. Casey is core trained and has her Assisted Living Administrator’s License. Previously, Casey has worked as a nursing supervisor, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Director of Nursing.

Todd Burson, Director of Facility Maintenance for The Blake at Pensacola. Todd is a 20- year Navy Veteran with more than 40 years of experience in planned preventative maintenance.

Todd manages several staff in various positions and is an Escambia County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Team member for The Blake at Pensacola.  He thrives on difficult challenges and is extremely level-headed in emergency situations. Burson has been instrumental in the success of Assisted Living Communities in NWFL with 20 years of deficiency free Life-Safety inspections and assisted in 14 years of deficiency-free State ACHA inspections. He holds care and safety-first foremost for residents and staff at all times.

Leanna joined The Blake at Pensacola in March 2022. She is originally from Mobile, Alabama. She enjoys meeting prospective new hires and helping make The Blake a fun workplace. She is passionate about getting to know each and every resident and forming meaningful friendships with them. Leanna loves working at The Blake because of the superb amount of care every resident deserves and receives. When Leanna is not working, she enjoys painting, traveling, and reading.

Kim Taylor is originally from Greenville, Mississippi. She received her Associate Degrees in Education and Secretarial Science II in Mississippi. She previously worked in banking before becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) in Kentucky and Mississippi. Kim has always had a passion for working with the seniors. So in 2018, she started a new career with The Blake at Oxford in Oxford, Mississippi as the Walk With Me Coordinator. There, she was also the Captain for the Delta Region for Memory Care. While at Oxford, she obtained her SeniorLivingU Community Life Certification and Alzheimer’s-Dementia Care Certification in 2019. In November, 2021 Kim began working for The Blake at Pensacola as the Walk With Me Coordinator where she continues to shine.

Kim is passionate about her residents and loves helping them engage in the daily activities, providing the highest level of wellness care, and making sure they always feel at home.

When Kim is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, spending time on the beach, and shopping at flea markets.
